Charlotte’s Fan

Charlotte's Fan
Young and free, not much of a scholar, she loved to color
Until a web of fantasy appeared in her midst
And for hours, she would not be missed
Off she ran and became a fan
Of four, maybe more
There was Fern and Wilbur
The other animals and Charlotte, who in her eyes was the starlet
There were many heroes, Fern being the first
For fairness was her thirst
The animals of the barn
One even with a string of yarn
Finding a route of escape
Into the landscape
And Charlotte with her words
Every string of her web a chord
For life and no strife
All to save Wilbur
So he could turn silver
And silver, Wilbur was allowed to turn
Even without Fern
Who no longer stayed by his side
But he was okay he had pride
Charlotte had to leave
Even with all she weaved
Behind she left her sac
Wilbur watched, so it was never attacked
And every year, Wilbur watched Charlotte’s babies grow
But as with all children they must go
A tear in her eyes a catch in her throat
But that is how he wrote
Several new friends
Until she turned the page and read
The End.
