You Left an Ember in My Heart
At first, I did not realize that there was still
an ember burning in my heart
Once I dried the last tear,
I felt a warmth coming from my soul
When I peaked beyond the veil, I saw a whiff of smoke
Then I saw the glow
I brushed back the ashes, and the glow grew
As I spoke words of love to it,
the glow became brighter
When I fed It kindlings of kindness and compassion,
It began to spark
I stoked the flame with hope, and it jumped
As I tend the fire, my belief and faith in myself grow
Now, I know the ember was always there, 
waiting to brightly glow.
