I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Belief vs. Faith
In the past, I used these two words interchangeably. However, they are not.
To believe is a stepping stone to faith.
When we believe, we are saying that we trust something is true or that we may be able to accomplish something. When we have faith, we tell ourselves and the Universe that we have surpassed believing and that there is zero doubt.
For example, if we believe in ourselves and our abilities to do something, we may accomplish this. However, when we say we have faith in ourselves, we say we will achieve this mission.
In other words, it is possibility vs. definitely or option vs. decision.
Belief is the possibility of an option, whereas faith is a definite decision.
Another example is some people believe, and others have faith, in the ultimate power of God or the Universe. The difference is that the people who believe still need proof, while those who have faith know it to be true.
Whether you believe something to be accurate or have faith that it is, it is your choice, and you are not wrong.
Finally, believing or having faith does not mean we cannot change our minds.
Today’s challenge:
Discover if you believe or have faith in yourself.
