I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Boundaries
Have you set boundaries for yourself? Limits you do not go past or ones you do not allow others to cross.
At times, we tend to overlook setting boundaries and end up being exploited. Alternatively, we might think letting it pass just once is all right. However, some individuals will never acknowledge our limits if you permit them to cross them even once. Since you were okay with it the last time, they assume it’s irrational to prevent them from crossing that line again.
What about the boundaries you set for yourself, the lines you have always chosen not to cross, and you find yourself doing something that you had always said you would not do? Can you reset your limits? Can you forgive yourself for allowing yourself to do this?
Boundaries are important. We each have to decide what suits us and teach others that it is not okay to cross this line. If you have chosen to cross your limits, you must decide if that boundary was important enough to put back in place or if you would like to renegotiate with yourself on what is acceptable to you.
Today’s challenge:
Examine your boundaries to be sure they still match who you are.
