I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Cultures
Learning about other cultures is a beautiful gift you can give yourself, your family, and your friends.
We often expect others to understand our way of living while refusing to understand someone else’s way of living.
When we learn about other cultures, we enrich ourselves, those around us, and the world.
Learning does not mean that you have to embrace a different style. It just means that you are open to the fact that your way is not the only way. Respecting how someone else lives is not harmful as long as it does not harm anyone.
For example, what if you only ever ate one type of food? If you are not Italian and never tried Italian food, you will miss a feast for your taste buds. Likewise, how would you know if you are on the right path if you refuse to learn about another’s spiritual journey or religion?
Whether you embrace it or not, you have learned something new. Isn’t that part of living a more fulfilled life?
Life is exciting because of our differences. Learning and teaching others about our differences will bring our world closer.
Today’s challenge:
Next time you want to shut your mind to something, ask yourself, will I grow by learning this?
