I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Dive Head First
I never learned to dive. It is not that no one ever tried to teach me. It is that I did not trust. I was too fearful of going into the water head first. What if I hit the bottom and could not find my way out? The few times I did manage to pull off a dive instead of a belly flop, I panicked underwater when trying to break the surface, and it seemed further away than I thought it was.
When we dive head first, we trust ourselves to save ourselves.
However, if we think about it, we must always dive headfirst. We could stick our toe in and pull it back out until comfortable. However, getting where we want to go may take too long. While sometimes this may be the recommended way to go, at other times, we must dive in head first.
We must decide whether the situation warrants a comfortable toe or an uncomfortable head dive. If we choose to dive in, we must be all in and not change our minds halfway through the dive because, let me tell you, those belly flops hurt.
Trust yourself that you know what is best for you. Also, remember that if you dive in headfirst and realize you dove into the wrong pool, you can dive again into the right pool.
Today’s challenge:
Trust yourself to dive into life head first.
