I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Duality
There is darkness
But there is also light
There is hate
But there is also love
There is weakness
But there is also strength
There is bitterness
But there is also sweetness
One grows out of the other
There is one way, but there is also another way.
Life is all about duality. We cannot always live in the light and ignore the darkness. We can, however, not give the darkness the attention it requires. In other words, we need to know its presence, but we do not need to feed it.
The sweetness of life is not recognizable without the bitterness. Almost all beautiful and enjoyable things in life have a duality: night and day, salty and sweet, and empathy and cruelty.
It is wonderful to live in the light, but we must remember many do not live in the light. For many, the duality of light is not something preferred. Some prefer to dwell on the darker side of life. But to hate them will not bring them into the light but pull you into the darkness.
Duality keeps life interesting, so be aware of the darkness, but don’t dwell there.
Today’s challenge:
Examine your heart for duality. Accept it and then choose which you prefer to feed.
