I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations.  Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself.  You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness.  Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you.  You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world.  Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china.  I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment comes too late.

It is not there when we need it most.

It shows up after we make our mistakes.

It shows up after we have lived most of our life.

And though we try to imprint our enlightenment on the young,

They are not enlightened enough to understand the lessons.

Enlightenment, I wish you could understand how much we need you!

We often find enlightenment to be elusive.  Because enlightenment comes from living and making mistakes, unfortunately, it is not something we can shortcut.

Many turn to meditation or isolation to find clarification. For some, this leads to profound enlightenment, which leads to a more illuminated understanding of life and the universe.

On the other hand, some do not seek enlightenment outside of themselves because they feel it should be inherent in all of us.  For example, we should be kind and compassionate to each other and Mother Earth.

Finally, some believe they are enlightened and do not need to seek it.  Often, these are the ones who blame others for all their mistakes and have not learned how to take responsibility.  Illuminating their ignorance.

We must strive to make enlightenment part of our characteristics.  To that end, our mistakes can be an insightful lesson.

Today’s challenge:

Seek Enlightenment.
