I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Entitled
There is a lot of talk of entitlement these days.
Some things, we are entitled to in life and must earn others.
As humans, we are entitled to be happy, love without fear, to hope, and to have faith in ourselves. We are authorized to breathe fresh air and enjoy the beauty of nature. Most importantly, we are entitled to be treated equally by all.
While we are entitled to our choice of religion or spirituality, our belief in God or the Universe, or not to believe in religion or a greater power, we are not permitted to force our beliefs on others. We are not authorized to insist someone else’s spirituality is incorrect because it does not align with ours.
Another thing we believe we are entitled to is respect. However, while people should always start out showing respect, respect is earned. Therefore, we are not entitled to that reverence without returning that admiration.
Also, we are not entitled to demand things from others because we feel we deserve it more than them. Additionally, we are not entitled to disrespect others because they do not measure up to our standards.
As humans, there are many things that we deserve because we are here, and at the same time, there are many things that we must earn.
Finally, no one is entitled to treat Mother Nature with disrespect.
Today’s challenge:
Understand what you and others are entitled to and what you are not.
