I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations.  Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself.  You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china.  I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow. Fallen Leaves
I spent time this weekend raking (mowing) the fallen leaves.
Of course, I cried about it since I have no trees in my yard, yet I had to spend a few hours cleaning them up.
We don’t get to dictate where the leaves fall. It does not matter that I have no trees and have more leaves in my yard than my neighbor. While it seems unfair, I must take care of the leaves if I want my yard to look nice.
However, I must also thank these fallen leaves because they shaded my house in the heat of the 90-degree summer and helped keep it cooler. Sometimes, we can only see what is happening now and forget to appreciate the past.
At the same time, I am grateful for the fallen leaves because my yard usually looks nice, and I forget how much I appreciate that. Therefore, when my image of a perfect yard is disrupted, it reminds me that life is not always perfect. However, if we work at it, we can restore our image of an ideal yard and life.
Leaves fall; we pick them up and move on. Sometimes in life, we fall; we pick ourselves up and move on.
Today’s challenge:
If you fall, pick yourself up and move on.
