I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations.  Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself.  You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you.  You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world.  Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china.  I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.

Fear

What are you afraid of?

Most of us have a fear of something.

It may not be a physical danger but an emotional one.

There is healthy and unhealthy (or imagined) fear.

If your dread is coming from your gut, listen to it. We have gut instincts for a reason and should never ignore them.

However, if your fear comes from your head, examine it and discover if it is imagined.

Imagined fears can be different for everyone.  There may be angst about love, success, failure, happiness, or losing everything.

It may sound silly that some people fear love or happiness, but many do.  These concerns usually come from a traumatic event in their lives.  I will not go into the trauma that someone may have faced.  However, we must be aware that this is possible.  Hopefully, there is a way to help that individual through it.  Telling someone to get over it is rarely a practical approach.    We want to help them so that the fear does not paralyze them.  Sometimes, we may not be capable of the help they need because of how traumatic it was to them. However, we can encourage them to seek out the necessary service.

On the other hand, if the fear does not stem from a traumatic event but instead comes from anxiety while still being compassionate, we may be able to assist them through it.

We often remember things differently than they actually happened, creating an imagined fear.  Examining what makes us fearful of something is a necessity that we can each do.  Meditating on a doubt will usually reveal the reason behind it.  When we remember something incorrectly, we should be able to release the worry that stemmed from this event.

If failure is your fear, you must remember you cannot fail if you do not try.  If you try and it does not work out, that is because there is a different path to success and away from failure.

Imagined fear is genuine to the person. Being compassionate is a necessity. Once they realize the fear was imagined, they will move on, maybe even laughing at themselves.

Today’s challenge:

Encourage someone.
