I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Flaws
Did you know that for coin collectors, the most valuable coins are the ones with flaws from the mint? In other words, they were born into this world imperfect.
Think about that for a moment.
Minted flaws are what make a coin different and, therefore, more valuable.
Why do you think many have coin collections and spend hours scoring them? They are looking for that flaw that can make them rich.
The same can be said about our imperfections, especially those we are born with: the birthmark, those frickles, the crooked nose. These are the perfect flaws that many of us are lucky to wear. The flaws that make us rich because they make us unique.
We all have a flaw that we are born with. Some flaws are only seen by the person possessing this imperfection, and some are out in the open for the world to see. Either way, they are there, and we need to learn to live with them and maybe even highlight them.
So the next time you get upset with yourself over your flaws, ask yourself if that flaw makes you unique and, therefore, more valuable.
Today’s challenge:
Embrace your flaws.
