I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Flexible
How flexible are you? I don’t mean physically.
We all need to have a little flexibility. If we always stand firm in our convictions, even when we know they are wrong, we may be broken by a strong wind. However, if we can bend with the wind, we can survive.
For example, if you have said something you have learned is incorrect, you can keep fighting to prove your point or concede and admit you were wrong. However, to keep fighting to prove the point that you know is incorrect will eventually break you.
At the same time, this does not mean you always have to be flexible. If you know you are right and there is no doubt, you should stand firm in your belief. Sometimes, the wind will be flexible and curve around us.
When we are flexible and admit we have made a mistake, we may inspire others to do so, too. Therefore, our flexibility becomes their flexibility.
Being flexible does not mean that you are always wrong. It only means that you can admit when you have erred.
Today’s challenge:
When you make a mistake, be flexible enough to admit it.
