I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Forgiveness
Sometimes, it is hard to forgive. We want the other person to pay, so we hold onto the anger and refuse to forgive. However, as I said in Recipe for Life, Forgiveness helps us to leave the anger behind. Forgiving is more about the forgiver than the one being forgiven.
We believe we punish the other person when we hold a grudge. However, they may not even know or care about our anger. Instead, the toxicity of anger can damage ourselves and our world.
Our health is more important than holding on to an old grudge. The best thing about forgiving is that it does not mean you forget but that you love yourself enough not to hold onto bitterness.
Even if the trespass against you was horrendous, it is essential to let the anger go. If it was an illegal trespass, put the punishment in the hands of the justice system so that you can look yourself in the eyes and not be further damaged.
Forgiveness is the best gift you can give yourself and those closest to you. No one wants to see anyone suffer over something that cannot be changed.
Today’s challenge:
Release old wounds for yourself and your loved ones.
