I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Fortunate
We all look at things differently. It is a matter of our perspective.
For example, as I stepped into the shower this morning, the mat and I slipped. However, I was fortunate that my one leg was still outside the tub. Instead of falling, I banged my leg into the tub. On the one hand, I could have been upset that the mat, which is meant to keep one from slipping, slipped. However, I realized it was my fault for not placing it correctly. Additionally, I was lucky I was not entirely in the tub.
I could be upset that my leg banged into a cast-iron tub, leaving me with a large bruise. Instead, I am grateful that I banged my leg instead of falling. I am also grateful that I am fortunate to have a cast-iron tub. Because of its depth, it allows me to enjoy luxury baths.
While others may not find my mishap as fortunate, I do. Not only did I not get badly hurt, but it also gave me another Morning Coffee to write.
Fortune comes in different ways for different people; sometimes, it is just how we view a situation.
Today’s challenge:
Next time you are upset over something, ask if there is a fortunate aspect.
