I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Hope
Hope is always on the horizon.
With hope, we move away from fear and anticipate that something good will happen.
Hope is fueled by faith—faith that there is something better than what we are experiencing now, faith that the situation can improve.
Hope can sometimes be confused with hate. That is because hope is often born out of despair. When we are dissatisfied with the current situation, we want something better. Since we don’t always agree on everything, the anticipation of change for one person can feel like an attack on someone satisfied with how things are. Meanwhile, the person who expects something different only desires what they feel will improve their life.
Hence, hope is not hate but rather a perspective. We each have expectations, and that optimism will vary in how we express it.
Even when satisfied, most of us still expect life to continue to improve. In this way, we keep optimism alive.
Therefore, we can say hope fuels the world, and we cannot lose faith.
Today’s challenge:
Live in hope.
