I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Innocence
We are all born innocent. We retain our innocence for some time,
As we start to grow, our innocence starts to diminish. The more we interact with others, the faster we lose our virtuosness.
Unfortunately, our innocence can be seen as naive—a way to take advantage or put down another.
However, when we see the world through innocent eyes, we see so much more. We appreciate many small things we overlook when we become jaded by life.
For example, most of us are happy when we see a butterfly or a ladybug. We enjoy the pleasure of the beauty in front of us. However, someone in a hurry may become angered if one flies in their direction. They may see it as an unwelcome distraction.
We may find it hard to hold onto our innocence. However, the longer we can help our children remain innocent, the better human beings we will raise.
Innocence is not something to be taken advantage of. It is something we should all strive for.
Today’s challenge:
Look at the world through a child’s eye.
