I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations.  Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself.  You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you.  You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world.  Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china.  I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.

Mistakes

Sometimes, we make mistakes.  And sometimes, they can be funny mistakes.

Have you ever sent a text without proofreading it and discovered that what you wrote will cause the other person to laugh? ย Or perhaps your mistake can cause an ongoing reason for someone to torture you lovingly.

For example, I stole my father’s leftover turkey dinner after Thanksgiving. My father was kind enough to invite me out to dinner for Thanksgiving. We went to a restaurant that provided a traditional turkey dinner. Both my father and I chose this as our dinner. However, when I packed my leftovers to head home, I mistakenly took his leftovers, too.

Knowing how much my father was looking forward to his leftovers is causing me so much guilt.  I did not discover my mistake until I got home, approximately an hour away from him.  I felt so bad that I would drive back up there to return his turkey.  However, he would not allow me to do that.  I don’t care how old you are when your father tells you he will be mad at you if you do something you don’t do it.

So, now I am enjoying his turkey dinner as I write this.  And he has promised to remind me, as his last words, that I stole his turkey dinner.

Today’s challenge:

Look for the humor in your mistakes.

Fun day

“Ha Ha,” said he, with one large tear in his eye, and an unfulfilled drool dripping from the right corner of his mouth … with visions of cherry-plum pie AND turkey!
Love ya even more, Dear Daughter! You are indeed very, very special. ๐Ÿ™‚
PS Mary bought me a Swanson turkey pot pie; they were on sale at my Albertson’s. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I did not steal a cherry plum pie from you. Love you too.
