I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Patience
Patience is a virtue.
Do you exemplify this virtue? Are you patient with others? How about with yourself?
Often, we find it easier to be patient with others than with ourselves because we tend to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
For example, I often lose patience with myself and things out of my control, such as trying to get content posted to my website. However, I am grateful that I tend to be patient with others.
Patience with others, as well as with us, is a necessity. As we go through our days, we will encounter someone or something that upsets us. We may even be the cause of this upset. Therefore, we must learn how to navigate life without overreacting. For example, if someone cuts you off on the road and no one is hurt, try to let it go. Losing patience with someone like this will only make you feel upset over something you cannot control. Instead, count to three and then wish them well. They are going to need it at some point.
If we could all be more patient with others and ourselves, we would have a more beautiful planet.
Today’s challenge:
Count to three before you react.
