I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow
Response
Often, we forget to respond and react instead.
I am unsure when it happened, but people started saying things for reaction, not response. Triggering each other became the game. It became a way to make another lose control and cause them to become angry instead of informed.
Reaction instead of responding puts tension in the air. It causes people to ignore each other’s concerns or thoughts on a subject. It allows others to start controlling you from your thoughts.
We fall into their traps when we allow things we hear, read, and see to trigger us.
Responding to these things will change the outcome. When we choose a response over a reaction, we stay in control and are more likely to find a way to collaborate as opposed to a competition.
Today’s challenge:
Next time you are about to react, ask yourself if this is meant to elicit a reaction instead of a response. Stop and respond or walk away, which is also a response, instead of allowing it to control you through your thoughts.
