I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Self-Hostage
Are you being held hostage by your mind
Are you being held hostage by your thoughts
Are you being held hostage by your mistakes
Are you being held hostage by your unwillingness to forgive
Are you being held hostage by yourself
Pay the ransom - Peace of Mind.
And release your hostage.
So often, we hold ourselves hostage without realizing it.
We do not realize the words in our heads that are stopping us or holding us back—the mistakes we have made play repeatedly, keeping us from trying again. We refuse to forgive ourselves or others, only to go around in circles or anger.
We let all these things keep us hostage from our lives. Afraid to move forward.
However, if we can find peace of mind, we can release ourselves. We can begin to live the life we want, try the things that have scared us, and move on from the anger we hold.
When we are victims of self-hostage, no one but us can save ourselves.
Today’s challenge:
Examine the things that are holding you hostage and release them.
