I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
Shadows
Shadows are a blockage of light.
We all have shadows, and these phantoms can sometimes seem menacing. Most of us have seen videos of children seeing their own shadow for the first time and trying desperately to escape it.
Unfortunately, we cannot escape our shadows. We carry them with us wherever we go. However, not all shadows can be seen. Some are part of our psyche.
The darkness we carry within us is the part of ourselves that is not allowed to see the light. It is our failures and judgments of ourselves. It is the things we believe to be bad about ourselves. Therefore, we do not allow them out so others cannot see them.
However, If we do not face these mistakes, they will forever remain hidden from our light and always be a part of us that we are ashamed of.
We can learn from our shadows. When we study them, we understand what we did wrong and how to improve ourselves. Examining them shows that they are only phantoms of past mistakes, not something that can continue to harm us unless we allow them to.
Today’s challenge:
Examine your shadows.
