I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
It is essential that we appreciate the beauty of simplicity.
Simplifying our lives can create a sense of peace and order. For instance, cleaning and organizing our homes, as well as making our beds, can help us to simplify our lives. While making lists can also allow us to clear our minds of clutter.
Sometimes, we may feel compelled to add more to our lives. We take on more responsibilities, accumulate clutter, and invite more stress into our world. We believe adding more will make us happier, but that may not always be true.
There is a possibility that we may not realize how much we appreciate simplicity. For example, we may admire elegant homes and dresses that are simple in their design. We also may find ourselves enjoying a black-and-white photo or a single flower.
I recall this old piece of advice: Before you walk out the door, look in the mirror, and remove at least one accessory. In other words, simplify your look.
When we start letting go of the things that clutter our lives, the stress begins to evaporate. We may find ourselves breathing a sigh of relief as we focus on simplicity.
When we keep things simple, we enhance our lives with simplicity. The next time you want to add something to your life, ask yourself, “Is this necessary?”.
Today’s challenge:
Have gratitude for the simple things in life.
