I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Perhaps you have some untapped talent you may regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
The Root of All Evil
Most of us have heard that money is the root of all evil. I don’t think that is true. I believe fear is the root of all evil.
Fear costs us our peace. Fear causes anxiety and stress. It also causes anger and frustration. Impatience and hatred are born of fear.
People say that we should be God-fearing. Talk about the Root of all Evil. God and the Universe are not to be feared. Love is what they are, and with love, there should be no fear.
When we see or feel hatred, it comes from a fear of not knowing.
Why is money said to be the root of all evil? Simple: Sometimes, money can cause fear—fear that there is not enough, fear that if someone has too much, others will suffer. Often, people with money fear losing it. There is a lot of fear around money and money issues. Money is tangible, whereas fear is not. So, riches are labeled the root of all evil, when in reality, it is the fear that surrounds the riches.
Fear is an evil we can and must pull out by the root before it can spread.
Today’s challenge:
Release the fear and be at peace.
