I hope these thoughts give you something to ponder while you enjoy your morning beverage. As you go about your day, I invite you to take some time to reflect on your observations. Consider if there’s anything you can do to enhance your life, such as looking into the mirror and appreciating yourself. You may also find a way to make the world more beautiful with a simple act of kindness. Perhaps you can hold the door open without expecting a thank you. You may also want to consider if you have a gift to share with the world. Maybe you have some untapped talent you regret wasting, as we sometimes do with unused towels or our good china. I hope you find them enjoyable and return for more tomorrow.
The Light on the Other Side of the Tunnel
I saw a tunnel
It was very dark but filled with excitement
I knew I was being drawn to it, but fear gripped me
Then I saw the most beautiful light on the other side
The only way to get to the light was through the tunnel
So, I approached the tunnel with apprehension
As I got closer, I heard howls and screams
I turned to run the other way
But it had become so dark where I had come from
And the voices in the dark told me I could not return
So I turned to face the tunnel, but the fear overwhelmed me
So I sat at the entrance, not knowing what to do
There was darkness all around me and only one way to the light
If I go back, I will remain in comfort, but I will forever remain in the dark
If I go through the tunnel, I will have to face my fears, and they can destroy me
But if I can get past my fears, I will come out into the light
So I stood and hesitantly stepped into the tunnel
At first, I could not breathe as my fears began to chase me
Then, my fears surrounded me in the tunnel, and I could go no further
They left me an opening to go back, but it was a trail I no longer wished to be on
So, I sat with my fears and got to know them
I realized that many of my fears were not real and faded away
The ones that remained made me answer questions
Questions I was not prepared for
They told me if I could answer the questions, I could proceed to the light
My fears seemed to have softened and even cheered me on
They told me where I could find the answers
Fears are funny like that
They always give you clues
I searched in my heart because that is where they told me to go
And in my heart, I found the answers
But I had become comfortable with my fears and did not wish them to leave
They promised if I gave them the answers, they would transform
So I gave them the answers, and each fear faded and then transformed into radiant light guiding me to the end of the tunnel
And when I stepped out of the tunnel, they blended with the beautiful light
The light on the other side of the tunnel
Today’s challenge:
Always look for the light.
